Fortec Motorsports has completed its GB4 line-up with the signing of Aditya Kulkarni, who will make his car racing debut this weekend at at Oulton Park.
The 15-year old has spent the last few years in karts, winning the ‘O’ Plate title in the TKM British Open Championship in 2021 as well as winning that year’s TKM Festival. He also was runner-up in the TKM Festival Championship, won the Shenington Super Prix and came in the top 10 in the MSA British Championship in both 2021 and ’22.
He recently tested with Fortec at Donington Park and Snetterton and joined pre-event tested ahead of the season-opener on Thursday.
“I’m really excited to be making the step up to the GB4 Championship this year,” said Kulkarni. “I started in karting quite late, and I’ve also had to miss a lot of pre-season testing this year, so I’m very thankful for the last-minute opportunity to make the step into single seaters.
“Even better for me, I’m with one of the best teams in the country in Fortec Motorsport, and their driver development programme will definitely help me to make up for lost time. I’m very excited for this next step in my career and can’t wait to share it with all my fans.”
He joins GB4 scholarship winner Colin Queen and Indian junior karting champion at Fortec.
“It’s fantastic to be able to welcome Aditya to the Fortec family,” said Fortec’s team principal, Oliver Dutton.
“Considering how late he came into racing, his karting record is incredibly impressive, and we think with our in-house team, we can bring Aditya on and develop him into a front-running driver.
“As a team, we’re very much aiming to retain the GB4 title we won last season, and I’m sure Aditya will have a crucial part to play in that.”
