Karthikeyan wins the first Auto GP race at the N?rburgring

Narain Karthikeyan easily converted his pole position into a race victory after a faultless performance at the Nurburgring.

Although the Indian was never able to build a comfortable gap against Kevin Giovesi and Vittorio Ghirelli, his consistent two/three seconds of advantage proved to be enough for him to arrive at the checkered flag in first place.

Giovesi, still chasing his first victory in the category, finished second, while Ghirelli had to settle with third position, as he switched positions with the Ghinzani driver at the very beginning of the race.

Although Kimiya Sato started behind Sergio Campana and Kiss Pal Tamas, he managed to settle in front of them after the pit stops, taking fourth. Campana finished fifth, while Kiss held on to sixth, despite severe pressure from Robert Visoiu in the closing stages.

Roberto La Rocca and Michela Cerruti ended their first ever Auto GP races in eighth and ninth respectively, as Yoshitaka Kuroda picked up the final point with tenth place.
