Hitech GP has announced Santino Panetta as part of its line-up in Eurocup-3, which it will join the paddock of next year.
Eurocup-3 switches from being a Formula Regional-based series to an alternative to Euroformula in 2026, as it introduces the third-tier single-seater Dallara 326 car and TOM’S-developed 1.6-litre turbocharged Toyota power units.
Earlier this year the championship also announced nine teams which would be on the grid next season, with Hitech among four newcomers to the paddock. Hitech already competes in third-tier single-seaters, racing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship.
“Joining Hitech for their Eurocup-3 debut is an incredible opportunity for me,” said Panetta. “I’m eager to learn and push myself in this new challenge, and I’m proud to be part of a team making its first steps in the series.”
The 15-year-old Argentinian steps up to Eurocup-3 after a single year in Spanish Formula 4 with TC Racing. He came 21st in the Winter Championship, and 18th in the main championship. A seventh place was his best result.
Bruin Beasley, who will be Hitech’s Eurocup-3 team manager, added: “This is another exciting new chapter for Hitech and the growing talent base at the F4 level. Joining Eurocup-3 allows us to broaden our driver development programme and compete in one of Europe’s fastest-growing series. We’re pleased to welcome Santino as our first driver and we look forward to building a competitive team.”
Double R Racing is the other British team that is set to join the new-look Eurocup-3 from 2026 onwards.
