Van Amersfoort Racing?s Dennis Hauger demolished the opposition to take his second ADAC Formula 4 win of the weekend at the Red Bull Ring, beating Theo Pourchaire.
Polesitter and Red Bull junior Hauger won the 30-minute race by some six seconds despite a mid-race safety car intervention for a spun Nico Gohler.
Hauger performed both a mega start and restart to take his second win of the season and the championship lead after Roman Stanek retired.
Ferrari junior Petecof started a miserable 23rd?on the grid but methodically charged through the pack to take fifth place at the flag.
By lap three he was up to 16th, and on the penultimate lap he passed Ido Cohen. The Prema driver also made benefit of some of his rivals making mistakes or retiring.
US Racing?s Pourchaire came out on top of a frantic battle for second which featured debutant William Alatalo, with the Finnish driver taking his second podium from two ADAC F4 races.
Much of the scrap for P2 was between Pourchaire and Alessandro Famularo, but Famularo spun while at the head of the chasing pack ? dropping him well out of the points.
Arthur Leclerc picked his way through the field and featured in the podium scrap to take fourth place, while Paul Aron took top rookie honours.
Jenzer?s Giorgio Carrara will start Race 3 from pole position, having finished in eighth, narrowly ahead of championship contender Niklas Krutten who passed Joshua Durksen and Oliver Rasmussen late on.
Durksen rounded out the points finishers ahead of Rasmussen.
Alessandro Ghiretti, who impressed in the first race, started down the pack and his race ended prematurely when his US Racing-backed car mounded the rear of R-ace GP?s Michael Belov.
