Fortec Motorsports’ Linus Granfors resisted pressure from Lucas Blakeley to score a lights-to-flag win in GB4 race one at Silverstone.
Granfors led away from pole at the start while KMR Sport’s Blakeley had company from Graham Brunton Racing’s Callum Baxter into Maggotts and Becketts. Baxter ran slightly wide however, and was then passed for third into Stowe by Elite Motorsport’s Alisha Palmowski before losing a further place to KMR’s pre-race points leader Harry Burgyone Jr.
The front two quickly pulled clear, with Blakeley keeping within 0.6 seconds of Granfors in race’s first half. The Esports star closed the gap to 0.4s on lap six, but Granfors held on in the final three laps to take victory by 0.523s and reclaim the championship lead in the process.
Palmowski was chased by Burgyone and Baxter early on before capitalising on her pursuers battling each other to pull away and score her fifth podium in a row. Baxter made several attempts to pass Burgoyne into Stowe and Vale, but the latter defended the inside each time to come home fourth.
Fox Motorsport’s Branden Templeton was involved in an early scrap for seventh with Fortec’s Jack Taylor, and he eventually also passed Arden’s Leon Wilson to finish sixth.
Elite’s Finn Harrison recovered from a grid stall to ninth, while Fortec’s Dan Hickey moved past KMR’s Chloe Grant and Fox’s Megan Bruce to take 10th.
