Nikita Bedrin extended his points lead with an emphatic third win of the year in the final GB3 race of the weekend at Spa-Francorchamps.
The Velocity Racing Development driver converted pole into a clear lead into La Source while a frenetic battle raged behind him.
Making a great launch from fourth on the grid, Hitech GP’s Deagen Fairclough tried to squeeze in between Rodin Motorsport duo Maxim Rehm and Abbi Pulling, the latter having to swerve right to avoid contact.
Race one winner Pulling challenged Rehm into turn one but had to settle for third, and she was then shuffled back two further spots by Fairclough and her team-mate Martin Molnar on the Kemmel Straight.
Bedrin pulled out a one-second lead on the opening lap, and he continued to disappear further up the road before taking victory by 6.5s. Rehm, who was demoted three places to sixth by a post-race penalty in the opening contest for a collision with Fairclough, came home second.
Molnar passed Fairclough early on and remained ahead until the chequered flag to match his race one result in third, while Pulling held off VRD’s Patricio Gonzalez during a thrilling final-lap squabble for fifth.
Hitech’s Jin Nakamura was seventh, while Xcel Motorsport’s Lucas Fluxa edged Elite Motorsport’s Kirill Kutsov edged Arden’s Lewis Gilbert to eighth.
