Formula Regional racer Kanato Le will make his GB3 debut in a cameo appearance with Chris Dittmann Racing at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend.

The 16-year-old Japanese is currently driving for G4 Racing in FRegional Europe, and sits 25th in the standings with a best finish of 19th. He started 2024 by doing two FRegional Middle East rounds with R-ace GP, and came 22nd in the championship with one point.

Le started his car racing career in entry-level sportscar series Ginetta Junior in 2022, coming seventh in the standings with two wins, then ended the year with a podium in the Formula 4 UAE Trophy. He followed that up in 2023 with a full F4 UAE campaign, two seventh places helping him to 17th in the points table, then came seventh in British F4 with two victories.

His time in F4 was spent with Hitech GP, and he is member of the British team’s academy.

“I’m very excited to be joining the Chris Dittmann Racing team this weekend at Spa,” said Le.

“It will be my first time competing in the GB3 championship, so I want to thank the team for this opportunity. It will be challenging but I’m eager to learn and confident we will be able to make the most of our time together.”

CDR team owner Chris Dittmann added: “We’re very happy to welcome Kanato to the team for the GB3 races at Spa-Francorchamps. He’s shown he is a talented driver from karting through his transition to single seater racing, so we’re looking forward to working with him through the weekend and helping continue his learning and experience.”
