Ginetta Junior podium finisher Finn Harrison will remain with Elite Motorsport for a full GB4 campaign in 2024.
The 17-year-old made his car racing debut this year in Ginetta Junior with Assetto Motorsport before making a mid-season switch to Elite, and ended up eighth in the standings with four podium finishes.
He missed the final round to make his single-seater debut in GB4 at Donington Park, where he scored a best result of fourth in race two.
“I’m really looking forward to racing in GB4 with Elite full-time next year,” said Harrison. “I’ll be working hard with them over the winter in preparation for when the season begins over Easter.”
Harrison is the first driver confirmed for the third season of GB4, which uses first-generation Tatuus Formula 4 cars. Elite drivers picked up five wins in 2022, but this year the team only got one victory and had no driver who did more than three rounds.
“We’re very much looking forward to having Finn as part of the team for the GB4 championship in 2024,” said Elite’s team owner Eddie Ives. “We’ve worked with him since the latter half of 2023 and his commitment and determination has been impressive. From what we’ve seen during testing, we’re hopeful that he will be able to battle at the front of the GB4 grid.”
GB4 has attracted several new teams for 2024, and there are drivers who have scholarship funds to spend on seats in the series, but none have actually been able to get deals done so far in terms of filling cars.
