The 2026 calendars for Formula 2 and the FIA Formula 3 Championship have been revealed, and both include two rounds in Spain.

It was announced last December that F2 and F3 would remain on the Spanish Grand Prix support bill in 2026 when the race relocates to a new street circuit in Madrid after 35 years at Barcelona.

Formula 1’s primary feeder series first visited in 1992, and, the track became a mainstay of the calendar for International Formula 3000, GP2 and then F2, in addition to GP3 and its successor FIA F3. Testing has also regularly taken place there.

Rather than lose Barcelona from the schedule, F2 and F3 will race there next year in June before heading to Madrid in September. All 14 of F2’s rounds will be supporting F1, and in turn all 10 F3 race weekends will be on the same bill as F2.

Having two Spanish rounds has been made possible by Imola dropping off F1’s calendar, and therefore that of its support series, and Madrid marks the only venue change for F2 and F3 compared to 2025.

The Monaco round is taking place several weeks later, on June 4-7 rather than its usual placing in May, the trip to Barcelona will be on June 12-14 and Madrid will debut on September 11-13. It will host the season finale for F3.

Both calendars were approved in a recent FIA World Motorsport Council meeting, but no test dates or venues have been set.

One driver who already has a slight idea about what Madrid’s ‘Madring’ circuit will be like is Red Bull junior and F2 driver Pepe Marti, who demoed an FIA F3 car up and down the streets at the circuit’s launch event last weekend.
