AIX Racing has announced it has already signed a Formula 2 driver for 2026, with Emmo Fittipaldi joining its line-up.

Should he not make any Formula 3 starts before the end of this year, then Fittipaldi will be making a leap up the single-seater ladder from the fourth-tier Formula Regional category.

“I am very much looking forward to this opportunity. Racing in F2 is going to be a big learning curve for me,” said the 18-year-old Brazilian.

“I will be competing against the best drivers in the world, so it will be an honour to be racing against all of them on the race track. My expectations are that I will be learning a lot, every single day and every single week.”

Fittipaldi is the son of two-time Formula 1 world champion Emerson Fittipaldi, and uncle of two-time F1 starter and ex-IndyCar driver Pietro Fittipaldi and former F2 racer Enzo Fittipaldi.

The Sauber F1 team signed Fittipaldi as one of its junior drivers when he was in karting, though he left its ranks after his first year racing cars in 2021.

Fittipaldi started his single-seater career in Danish Formula 4 due to its minimum driver age of 14, lower than other F4 championships, and came third in the points with two wins.

He switched to Italian F4 in 2022 and was 23rd in the standings, then stepped up to FRegional for 2023. He came 24th in the European championship, and made two outings in Eurocup-3.

Fttipaldi joined MP Motorsport last year, and his first programme with them was a FRegional Middle East campaign in which he scored five points (his biggest haul since Danish F4).

He has been full-time in Eurocup-3 since, and shown an upturn in form. He made the podium four times in the 2024 season, coming fifth in the points table, took home two trophies en route to the sixth in the 2025 winter series and is currently 13th in the main series.
