Danish Formula 4 runner-up Sebastian Gravlund is stepping up to Eurocup-3 with MP Motorsport.

The 18-year-old Dane graduated from karting midway through 2021, taking on the last three rounds of the Danish F4 season with Team FormulaSport and claiming one podium to come ninth in the standings.

He then began testing with MP in F4, and for 2022 committed to a full season Spanish F4 with the Dutch team and a part-time Danish F4 campaign with Team FormulaSport.

Gravlund did all but one of the six rounds in Danish F4, and came second in the standings after winning five races and claiming two pole positions. In Spanish F4 he came 21st, and his best result was a seventh place in the season finale.

“Being able to stay with MP for my promotion to Eurocup-3 is of course great news,” said Gravlund.

“In 2022 I have come to appreciate how MP combines professionalism with a family atmosphere. I look forward to making good use of that familiar team environment as I embark on my next challenge. My participation in Eurocup-3 is an exciting prospect, it will be my next step on the talent ladder to Formula 1.”

MP has now completed its Eurocup-3 line-up, with Gravlund parterning fellow Dane Sebastian Ogaard and Jose Garfias.

“I am pleased that Sebastian [Gravlund] is part of our line-up in the first season of this new class,” said MP’s team principal Sander Dorsman.

“We are confident that the promise he has shown with us in Spanish F4 will translate into a series of excellent results in Eurocup-3. With our two Danish Sebastians and Joss we are strong for 2023.”
