Alvaro Cho, Lucca Zucchini and Matheus Comparatto shared the wins in the penultimate round of the 2024 Brazilian Formula 4 season at Goiania.
Last weekend’s grid featured 14 cars, and series sophomore Matheus Comparatto brought his victory tally up to a record nine wins.
Points leader Comparatto clinched both poles in Friday’s qualifying session, but Cho made the better jump off the line when lights went out at the start of race one and took the lead. He was followed by Arthur Pavie and Gino Trappa, and later Comparatto managed to overtake Pavie, leaving him under pressure from Ethan Nobels.
TMG Racing’s Cho led all the way, with Bassani’s Trappa and Comparatto joining him on the podium. After this race, Cho led Comparatto in the points table.
The reversed-grid race two was dominated by Zucchini, who started up front and was unbothered until the end. Rafaela Ferreira and Filippo Fiorentino finished second and third, while Comparatto and Cho made no progress from sixth and eighth on the grid.But as he finished ahead of his rival, Comparatto did move back into the championship lead.
In race three, Comparatto took a lights-to-flag win to grow his advantage in the standings. Cho started and finished second, and in the first half of the race did keep within half a second of the leader. The gap grew in the second half before the safety car came out, after which Cho still could not get past.
