Ido Cohen will drive for Rodin Carlin in his third FIA Formula 3 campaign, returning to the team he drove for in 2021.
The Israeli knows the team well, having first joined Carlin when he stepped up from Formula 4 in 2020 to race in Euroformula. His season in the F3-level series resulted in two podiums, but when he moved across to FIA F3 the next year with Carlin he could not get into the points and finished 24th in the standings.
A switch to Jenzer Motorsport in 2022 only proved slightly more productive, with Cohen again coming 24th in the championship but this time scoring two points.
“I’m very happy to back with everyone at Rodin Carlin again,” said Cohen. “When I went back for my seat fit, it was like going back to family. The team have made some positive changes since we were last racing together and I’m excited to see everything come together again when we get on track next week in Bahrain.”
The signing of Cohen means the 2023 FIA F3 grid is now almost complete, with just Hitech GP yet to announce its line-up in full.
“We’re delighted to welcome Ido back to the team,” said Carlin’s F3 team principal Stephanie Carlin. “We have a great working relationship together and a good understanding of what Ido needs to feel comfortable in the car. Combined with Ido’s experience in the championship, we look forward to making a positive start to the season in pre-season testing.”
