Noah Stromsted will make his FIA Formula 3 Championship debut with Campos Racing in this weekend’s Monza season finale.
The Dane takes the place of title outsider Oliver Goethe, who dropped off the entry list to instead make his Formula 2 debut this weekend with MP Motorsport, since that team needed a driver to replace the Fomula 1-bound Franco Colapinto.
“I am very excited to be making my debut in FIA F3 with Campos Racing as they are a very competitive team,” said Stromsted.
“I know them from our Formula 4 Spain season together in which I drove with them last year and have a very good relationship with them. I want to thank Campos Racing, my backers, management and family for this opportunity “
Campos’s team principal Adrian Campos Jr added: “We are very happy to have Noah with us for the Monza races. Last year, he already showed us that he is an incredibly talented and fast driver. Despite the significant step up in performance with the F3 car, we will provide him with all our support and experience to ensure his debut is as successful as possible.”
Stromsted started his single-seater career in his native F4 championship in 2021 aged 14, and won nine of the 11 races he contested to come second in the standings.
He had to wait until he was 15 to race elsewhere, and in 2022 did two Spanish F4 rounds as a guest driver with Campos. The outcome of that was two fifth places and a pole position.
Last year he remained with the team for a full campaign, but did not meet expectations as he came seventh in the standings with three podiums. Stromsted also came ninth in F4 United Arab Emirates with PHM Racing, with one podium finish, and stepped up to Formula Regional Europe for two rounds.
The 17-year-old has spent 2024 in FRegional so far, making a Middle East championship cameo and doing a full-time European championship campaign. In the latter, where he competes for Race Performance Motorsport, he has taken two podiums and two fastest laps. He is currently eighth in the standings, but remains in outside title contention.
