Campos Racing has signed Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak for the new Eurocup-3 series, making him the first driver to be confirmed as entering.

Eurocup-3 will use cars based around Tatuus’s Formula Regional tub but with different bodywork and tuned up Alfa Romeo engines to make them closer to Formula 3 on pace and lighter than FRegional cars.

The series will race in Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain, and has been thought up by the promoters of the Spanish Formula 4 championship, with Campos and rival MP Motorsport being two of the founding Eurocup-3 teams.

“I’m very happy to announce that I will be racing with Campos Racing in Eurocup-3,” said Inthraphuvasak.

“It will be a challenge to be racing in a new championship but I am very confident to be working with a great team who can help me develop throughout the season.”

The 17-year-old Thai will be embarking on his third year in car racing, having debuted in Formula 4 in 2021. He finished fifth in the United Arab Emirates championship with three podiums, took a win en route to 10th in the British championship and also claimed two podiums in a French F4 cameo.

A return to F4 UAE in 2022 resulted in a win and two other podiums, then he joined MP in Spanish F4 and claimed a win and a pole but could only come ninth in the points table.

However at the same time he stepped up to FRegional competition in the Ultimate Cup Series, and had a far more fruitful time as from six races he had a return of five wins, three poles and six fastest laps.

Inthraphuvasak remained in FRegional at the start of this year, joining the Middle East championship with Pinnacle VAR. He is currently 15th in the standings after three rounds, with one podium.

“I would like to extend a warm welcome to Tasanapol on behalf of Campos,” said the team’s principal Adrian Campos Jr.

“We are pleased to count on him for this new adventure in the Eurocup-3 series. As a rival, he was a very strong contender last year during the F4 Spain season, so we feel confident we will be able to complete a strong campaign together fighting for top results.”
