British Formula 4 race-winner Rowan Campbell-Pilling will step up to GB3 this year with Xcel Motorsport.

The 18-year-old has just over two years of single-seater experience under his belt, all in the entry-level F4 category.

He started off with Argenti Motorsport in British F4, taking two podiums in 2024. Last year he joined JHR Developments’ line-up, and came 10th in the standings once again but with a victory, a pole and two other podiums.

At the end of the year he joined Xcel for the United Arab Emirates-based Formula Trophy series, and came third with one win, one pole and two further podium appearances from seven races. That preceded a 2026 UAE4 campaign, but with Pinnacle Motorsport, and Campbell-Pilling has so far claimed one podium and is currently 12th in the points table.

“I’m really excited to be joining the 2026 GB3 championship with Xcel,” said Campbell-Pilling. “It’s been great working with them over the winter – they worked tirelessly for our campaign in the FTrophy series and we enjoyed huge success from that.

“I’m super excited to get started in the GB3 race car in the coming weeks as I once again represent Sheffield on the world stage – it means a huge amount to me.”

Xcel’s GB3 team manager Gary Bonnor added: “We’re extremely excited to welcome Rowan to our GB3 programme for 2026. He’s a driver who has consistently impressed us with his work ethic, commitment, and attitude. Rowan is incredibly hard working and has already spent a lot of time with the team, which gives us great confidence that he’ll adapt quickly and hit the ground running.”
