Matthew Brabham will make a third Indy Nxt appearance of 2023 in this weekend’s race at the Gateway oval, teaming up with Juncos Hollinger Racing once again.

The 29-year-old American-Australian first competed in Indy Nxt in 2014, coming fourth in the standings with Andretti Autosport and winning one race. He did the first two rounds of the 2015 season, then did not appear in the series again until last year when he rejoined Andretti for a full campaign and won two races en route to third in the points.

Last month he was called up Juncos to race at Iowa Speedway and finished fourth, then Cape Motorsports utilised him for the following race on the streets of Nashville. He missed the most recent race on Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s road course, scene of his first series win, but is now back in the cockpit for Gateway where he won last year.

“We had a really strong run together as a team. So I’m absolutely thrilled to be back for Gateway,” said Brabham. “I’m extremely grateful to [team bosses] Ricardo Juncos and Brad Hollinger for giving me such a great opportunity.”

Brabham will drive the #75 car, which was piloted by Matteo Nannini in the first seven races of the season and Victor Franzoni for the last two races. Franzoni will be back in the car for the rounds at Portland and Laguna Seca that conclude the season.

“Having Matthew back with the team for Gateway is a fantastic reunion,” said Juncos. “His experience and skill set perfectly complement our goals, and we’re excited to see the synergy between him and the Juncos Hollinger Racing family once again.”
