KIC Motorsport and Race Performance Motorsport have added Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi and Edgar Pierre respectively to their driver line-ups for the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship.
Bhirombhakdi steps up to FRegional after two years in Formula 4 where he raced in five different series. He debuted in F4 United Arab Emirates in 2022, then later in the year came 14th in ADAC F4 (with a best finish of sixth) and 41st in Italian F4.
His 2023 began with two F4 UAE rounds, then an Italian F4 campaign where he came 21st in the standings with eight points after missing the final round, two points-free Euro 4 appearances and an F4 Central European Zone cameo that resulted in the first podium finish of his single-seater career.
“Happy to announce that I will be joining KIC Motorsport for FREC,” said the 17-year-old Thai. “I’m ready to work hard and make the most of this opportunity.”
Pierre, an 18-year-old from France, spent two seasons in his home country’s F4 championship before making his FRegional debut earlier this year with two points-free outings in the Middle East championship.
He was 13th in his rookie French F4 season, with two top-five finishes, and improved to ninth in his sophomore campaign. A maiden podium came in the final round.
”I’m very glad to join R-P-M for the upcoming FREC season and I want to thank Keith [Donegan, team manager] and the team for the trust in me,” said Pierre.
“It’s a great opportunity to be in a team such as R-P-M and I’m very proud to be in this green family. I also want to thank my family, sponsors and management to make this possible. It will be a big challenge for me, but we will work hard together.”
