Alisha Palmowski dominated qualifying at Snetterton to take her first two GB4 pole positions.

The Elite Motorsport driver set two identical laptimes to end qualifying over 0.2 seconds clear of KMR Sport duo Lucas Blakeley and Harry Burgoyne Jr.

Arden’s Leon Wilson led with a 1m56.436s after drivers had completed their first flying laps, with Burgoyne lowering the pace to 1m50.762s on his second effort. Palmowski moved to the top with a 1m49.612s on her third attempt, while Graham Brunton Racing’s Callum Baxter edged Buryoyne into second.

After lowering her benchmark by a further 0.9s, Palmowski then set a 1m48.580s two laps in a row and it was a time that would go unbeaten. Baxter was eventually shuffled back to fifth by GB4 returnee Blakeley, Burgoyne and Fortec Motorsports’ points leader Linus Granfors.

Elite’s Finn Harrison was 0.7s off the pace in sixth, with Fox Motorsport’s Branden Templeton seventh ahead of Wilson, KMR’s Chloe Grant and Fortec’s Jack Taylor.

Drivers’ second-best laptimes set the race two grid, resulting in an identical top 10. This time Palmowski’s advantage over Blakeley was 0.282s, with Burgoyne 0.322s off pole. Granfors, Baxter and Harrison were over half a second slower than Palmowski and the last drivers within a second of her pace.

There were only 12 cars in total taking part, with Fortec’s Dan Hickey and Fox’s Megan Bruce the two drivers who failed to make the top 10.

Race one takes place at the end of the day.
