Alba Hurup Larsen will contest a partial British Formula 4 season alongside her rookie campaign in F1 Academy this year.
The 16-year-old Danish driver qualified third on her F1 Academy debut in Shanghai last month and finished the two races in seventh and fourth. There she is driving for MP Motorsport in the colours of series sponsor Tommy Hilfiger rather than any Formula 1 team.
Senior winner of the FIA Girls on Track Rising Stars programme in 2023, Larsen went on to make her single-seater debut last year by entering two Indian F4 rounds, and she also took part in three Formula Winter Series events with Jenzer Motorsport at the start of this year.
She will now add to that limited experience by joining Chris Dittmann Racing in British F4, competing in seven of the 10 events. She will have to miss round two at Silverstone, round eight at Donington and round 10 at Brands Hatch due to clashes with the F1 Academy calendar.
“I am very excited for 2025, racing in F1 Academy and F4, and gaining as much experience as possible, especially with Chris Dittmann Racing,” she said. “I’ll be working with the team in British F4 to build my race craft and grow as a driver.
“It is my first full year in F4, so I am trying to learn as much as possible, especially as the F4 and F1 Academy cars are different, so I will have to adapt to different circumstances. We will see after the first race, if we can have any expectations for the rest of the season.”
Larsen joins two F4 newcomers, Tommy Harfield and Charlie Edge, in Chris Dittmann’s line-up.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Alba to the team for the 2025 British F4 season,” said team boss Dittmann.
“She has already shown tremendous potential in F1 Academy and other championships, and we’re excited to help her develop further in single-seater racing. Her determination and skill behind the wheel make her a fantastic addition to our line-up, and we’re looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together this year.”
