Adam Al Azhari has switched teams to Hitech GP for his second season in British Formula 4.
The 16-year-old Emirati, younger brother of Eurocup-3 winter series leader Keanu, raced for Rodin Motorsport last season and came sixth in the standings with three victories and three other podiums. That was his second year in F4, having come 24th in Spanish F4 and 12th in Formula Trophy in 2024.
Al Azhari’s 2025 began on home soil in F4 Middle East, where he was 10th in the standings, and ended there too as he was sixth in FTrophy with two podiums. Alongside that he raced in Saudi Arabian F4 (where all cars were run by Hitech), and was championship runner-up despite a date clash meant he missed the finale. He won two races, netted three other podiums and started on pole three times.
In familiar fashion, this year also kicked off with Al Azhari racing at home in UAE4 and for the local Yas Heat Academy team he has spent most of his single-seater career with. This campaign featured no podiums, and Al Azhari was 11th in the points.
Three other teams have recently added to their 2026 British F4 line-ups. JHR Developments has signed Timo Jungling and Cameron Nelson, Leon Hedfors is joining Argenti Motorsport and Mate Kobakhidze will race for Xcel Motorsport.
Anglo-German talent Jungling steps up from karting. He won the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, was third in the Euro Trophy, sixth in the International Trophy and seventh in the Britsh Karting Championship in the Rotax Junior class back in 2023, then he stepped up to shifter karting.
In the KZ2 class he was ninth in the CIK-FIA European Championship and 17th in the WSK Final Cup in 2024, then was World Championship runner-up, seventh in the European championship, eighth in Champions of the Future and 11th in WSK’s Super Master Series last year.
The Wales-based Nelson is also a single-seater rookie with an impressive karting CV. On Rotax Jr karts in 2024, he was third in the RMC Grand Finals and International Trophy, fourth in the Euro Trophy, seventh in the Winter Cup and was eighth in the British Karting Championship.
For 2025 he moved up to Rotax Senior, and came fourth in the Euro Trophy and ninth in the RMC Winter Series. Nelson has done extensive F4 testing, and is managed by ex-Superleague Formula racer Duncan Tappy.
Hedfors hails from Sweden, and the 17-year-old began his car racing career at the end of 2025 with Xcel in FTrophy. He was 22nd in the points table, then joined Campos Racing to race in Formula Winter Series at the start of this year. He has missed two rounds, and sits a points-free 34th in the standings.
Georgian racer Kobakhidze is another karting graduate. He was 19th in the RMC Euro Trophy’s Rotax Jr class in 2024, then improved to fifth in 2025. He was also ninth in the RMC Winter Series, and eighth in the International Trophy.
