Elite Motorsport’s Fred Green set the pace during the latest pre-season GB4 test at Oulton Park.

The Ginetta Junior graduate set a best lap of 1m34.455s on Wednesday to deny Fortec Motorsports’ Thomas Ingram Hill top spot by 0.1 seconds, while Hillspeed’s Enzo Hallman edged Luke Hilton to third by just 0.005s

Green led the opening session on Tuesday morning wih a 1m44.677s benchmark, which was almost 0.3s faster than Nitrous Competions ADM Racing’s Hilton, and Hallman was a further 0.1s behind.

The pace improved by more than nine seconds in session two, with KMR Sport’s Alex O’Grady producing a late effort of 1m34.816s to knock Hallmann off top spot by 0.4s, and the Swede was further relegated to third by Hilton.

O’Grady’s time was not beaten in session three, where a 1m35.068s lap was enough for Green to top the timesheet again by 0.2s from Hilton, while O’Grady pipped Ingram Hill to third by 0.004s.

Green lowered the testing pace to a 1m34.709s during the early stages of session four, but Hilton set 1m34.657s lap five minutes later to finish at the top on completion of the day’s running. O’Grady slipped back to third overall, while Hallmann and Matan Achituv set new personal bests to climb to fourth and fifth.

Hilton led once more in Wednesday’s session five with a slower 1m35.698s, with O’Grady, Ingram Hill and Green completing the top four. Hallmann improved to a 1m34.735s to finish ahead of Hilton, O’Grady and Fortec’s Franciszek Cegielski in session six – the quartet separated by 0.070s.

Ingram Hill eclipsed Hilton’s testing benchmark by 0.002s halfway through session seven, and he went quicker on each of his next two laps to extend his advantage. But Green beat him with 20 minutes remaining with what ultimately proved to be the best time of the test.

Hallman topped the final session with a new personal best of 1m34.652s to grab third in the combined classification ahead of Hilton and O’Grady, who both were unable to improve on their times from earlier in the day.

Cegielski and Douglas’s Connor Grant set their quickest laps in session six to take sixth and eight overall, with Achituv separating the pair having set his best time in session seven, while Pace Performance’s Torrin Bryne and Elite’s Emilio Del Grosso completed the top 10.
