Brad Benavides has committed to spending another season in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with AIX Racing after ending his 2025 campaign on a high.
The 24-year-old Florida native, who holds American, Spanish and Guatemalan nationality, claimed pole for two of the last three rounds, and converted the latter of those into a career-best fourth place in the season-ending Monza feature race.
Those points lifted him to 20th in the championship standings, the second highest placed part-timer having missed the first two rounds. It was his second season in FIA F3, having come 23rd with Carlin three years ago.
Between those two campaigns he raced in Formula Regional Middle East, where he only mustered two points, had a points-free 18-race spell in Formula 2 with AIX’s backing, then romped to the title in the F3-level Euroformula championship last year with nine victories, 10 other podiums and four poles.
Next year his team-mates will be Fernando Barrichello and Yevan David, who were also his team-mates at Motopark in Euroformula.
“Very proud to close off our driver line-up for 2026 and to do so with Brad is the cherry on top!” said AIX Racing’s team manager Kenny Kirwan.
“Brad brings to the team many fine qualities as a driver and is a real team player who has supported his team-mates previously and has a very strong work ethic. I’m stoked to have him as my brother again for another season and look forward to working hard over the winter together to convert that qualifying pace that we know Brad can deliver into a strong and consistent race performance as we all witnessed in Monza.”
