Griffin Peebles has moved to MP Motorsport for his second season in Spanish Formula 4.
The 15-year-old Chinese-born Australian drove for several different teams in 2023 as he tried out multiple F4 series in Europe in his rookie year of single-seater racing.
He did two rounds of Italian F4 – the first with AKM Motorsport and the second with Jenzer Motorsport – and had a best finish of 14th on debut, two British F4 outings with Argenti Motorsport resulted in 15 points as he finished fourth in one of his six races, and in Euro 4 his best result from 12th as he contested two of the three rounds with BVM Racing.
Spanish F4 was his main programme, completing the full season with Tecnicar Motorsport. He only scored one point though, leaving him 25th in the standings.
“It’s great to be joining MP Motorsport for my next season in Spanish F4,” said Peebles.
“They are multiple team champions in the championship and bring a wealth of experience with the best young drivers who have used the Spanish F4 championship to progress in motorsport. Now that my future is known before the winter break, I can best prepare for the new season – I am really looking forward to my new challenge.”
Before stepping up to car racing, Peebles came 30th in the WSK Champions Cup, 23rd in the WSK Super Master Series and seventh in the WSK Open Cup for OK Junior karts.
MP’s team manager Sander Dorsman said: “Griff is an excellent addition to our Spanish F4 team for 2024. We already recognised his talent when he raced against us in the 2023 season, now he will be part of our own line-up in the championship. I’m sure he will perform excellently.”
