French Formula 4 race-winner Pierre-Alexandre Provost will make his Formula Regional European Championship debut in this weekend’s round at Paul Ricard.

Provost raced in French F4 through 2021 and 2022, coming 11th in his rookie season with a victory and a second place in reversed-grid races then improving to eighth in the standings as a series sophomore as he claimed a win and three other podiums.

During the winter he tested several times with G4 Racing in one of their FREC cars, and will now debut in the series with the Swiss team after being out of action through 2023 so far.

“After only six months of karting and two seasons In French F4 with some podiums and wins, I would like to thank G4 Racing for placing their trust in me despite my young motorsport experience,” said Provost.

“I’m really happy to join G4 Racing for my first race in FREC. I can’t wait to start working with the team after six months without driving a car. It will be not easy to come back but I’m sure that the team will help me to do my best.”

G4’s technical and sporting manager Adrian Munoz added: “After a successful winter testing programme with him, we finally have [Pierre-Alexandre] ready for racing at Paul Ricard, where he will show his class and talent.

“He is aware of the challenge to join one of the most competitive championships in single-seaters, with a superb driving level. We will support him as much as we can to help him to have a nice weekend.”
